Awarded “Best of Show” – Secura Art Exhibit 2007 – Appleton, WI
Through my travels, I have been given the opportunity to tour manufacturing facilities and meet with artists at work. I have often thought of these visits as a privilege and as such have found inspiration for many of my paintings from observing work in progress. Technology has rendered so many tasks obsolete. For instance, much of my own work in graphic arts moved from the drawing board to the computer. Although technology has made me more efficient as an employee, I did miss, for the longest time, creating layouts by hand.
Today I fill this need to work with my hands by painting. If I’m lucky, there will always be others who appreciate the quality of a hand-made product and I will continue to find reference material for my paintings and collectors who appreciate original work that is not mass-produced.
