The Carousel Project

For every Prairie RoseNorth Bay Carousel, or Christmas Carousel Horse print sold, one will be donated to a children’s facility.

The reaction people have upon seeing my paintings of carousel horses made me realize that they deserve a bigger audience than one. They should be on display where people who need more happiness in their lives can see them, as viewers of the painting seem to experience the same joy I had in creating them. As there is only one original, I decided to come up with a way to donate the images of the paintings to facilities that need more “joy” in them. While Children’s Hospitals came to mind immediately, I am open to hearing from any facility that could benefit from displaying any of these images.

Christmas Carousel Horse placements

All of my pediatric patients notice the donated giclee and make comments about it.

It has added a dimension of “life” to our waiting entry area.

I had a little girl yesterday who has been coming to me over the past year. She was fascinated by the Carousel image. She said, “I want to ride that horse.” She touched the horse and spun around.

A special thanks to Michelle for the amazing creation of this piece. It is perfect for a setting that serves kids. What a gift. Our institutions can use some life and animation to help children feel welcome and free to be children. It brings me great joy to watch children’s faces and imaginations come alive when they see this beautiful painting.

The kids LOVE the painting. They see it as soon as they get off the elevator and the sounds of joy and excitement are heard even back in our offices. Everyone (staff and patients, young and old) are enjoying it. You made a beautiful painting Michelle. Thanks for sharing it with us!
